Transport
We’re close! Ostrava is easily accessible by train, bus or car. The festival takes place at a different site each day, but it’s always near the city centre if not directly within it. We recommend using Ostrava’s public transport or your own two feet.
More about transportWhat to bring
Apart from good mood don’t forget to take:
– ID or a passport
– health insurance card
– enough cash or a credit card (the festival takes place in public spaces – there will always be an ATM nearby)
– sun protection – a hat and sunscreen
– clothing suitable for both hot weather and early evening chills
– a raincoat (umbrellas are better left home)
We recommend leaving valuable items such as jewelry, laptops, cameras or expensive mobile phones at home.
Food and drinks
There’ll be plenty of stands with a wide selection of drinks and meals in the vicinity of each festival stage. You can also bring your refreshments since the festival takes place in public spaces.
Children
Don’t hesitate and bring your kids with you to Folklore Without Boundaries.
Our program will feature several children’s ensembles this year, namely DFS Holúbek (Tuesday, Friday), DFS Hlubinka (Wednesday, Friday), DFS Krasničanek (Thursday, Friday) and DFS Ostravička (Friday).
All of them will perform in the concert of children ensembles happening on Friday at 15:30 at Silesian Ostrava Castle.
Photo and video
Visitors can bring only non-professional automatic cameras. Shooting on video or any other format without prior arrangement is strictly prohibited.
Only pre-accredited journalists are allowed to take photos with professional cameras at the festival. Journalists can apply for accreditation at promotion@fbho.cz. For more information, see the Press.
Barrier free folklore
Barrier-free experience has been important to us since the festival’s inception. That’s why we’ll again bring our program to barrier-free spaces this year.
The accompanying program “The Dancing City” will also visit Retirement Home Sluníčko, Retirement Home Slunečnice, Centre For People With Disabilities Čtyřlístek and Sanatoria Klimkovice.
Covid-19
Current information about restriction in Czechia can be found on the website https://covid.gov.cz/.
Animals
Pets can enter the festival sites only when muzzled and leashed, including the Friday program at Silesian Ostrava Castle.
Castle tickets
As has become a tradition, Folklore Without Boundaries’s closing concert will take place on Friday at Silesian Ostrava Castle.
